East Lansing Sweet 16

Katie had her Masquerade Themed East Lansing sweet 16 at the Kellogg Center. This venue is located on the campus of Michigan State University. This venue can be a little tricky to get in and out of. Our Michigan disc jockeys had no problems because we made sure there was plenty of set up time on this package.

Our client was going for the “WOW” factor so we did a bundled package. Katie mentioned how some of her friends booked with other companies and were unhappy with how they performed. We reassured Katie that her party would rock with our bundle package. Encore Party DJs brought out a custom setup for this celebration. We made sure there was enough lighting design to cover the entire room. In addition, our color changing photo booth was setup against the wall by the buffet line. This was a great location, because all of Katie’s friends saw our setup when they entered the room.

Guests had a blast taking photos. It helped to give guests something to do while they were waiting for the food. We kept the booth open during the meal portion of the evening. Quickly after, it was time for our DJs to crank up the volume big time.  If family and friends weren’t in the booth, then they were partying on the dance floor. This event almost felt like we were doing a high school prom. The energy level was high and the guests we’re enjoying it! Songs transitioned in a nice crescendo as we built up the tempo and brought it back down slowly.

The thing Katie loved MOST about the event was how the lighting was sound active. This meant that the speakers built into our lighting fixtures reacted with the beat of the music. It gave a very cool paparazzi effect during the break down of the song. We made sure to save this programmed scene towards the end of the night. We don’t want to give away all our good moves right off the bat : )

We ended the Sweet 16, the best way we could with everybody in a circle! We ask everyone to join the guest of honor on the dance floor, and to form a giant circle around them.
